Project Noah

We have just set up a fun way to document all the plant and animals that can be found in the Arboretum and Chicot State Park.  The website is http://www.projectnoah.org and is called Project Noah. The goal is to get citizen scientists(and professionals) to document all the plants and animals around the world. You don’t even have to be able to identify the plant or animal. There are tons of people who will help with the identification after you post your photos.

Our Mission is called “What’s in the Park?”.  Anyone who is visiting the Arboretum or Chicot can participate by taking a few photos of any plants or animals that you see and uploading them to the mission.  We really do mean anything! Mosquitoes and earthworms included! Join us for a Guided Canoe Tour this Saturday from 9-11 a.m. at Chicot’s North Landing Boat Launch.  Canoes are limited. Please call 337-363-6289 to reserve a spot. Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. is our Nature for Kids program celebrating Earth Day. Sunday at 11 a.m. is our Sunday Nature Program.
