Louisiana’s Arbor Day

This Friday is Arbor Day in Louisiana. We celebrate Arbor Day in January because its a good time to plant trees in this part of the country. Our Arbor Day program will be on Saturday from 10am to 4pm.  We will start the day with a flag raising ceremony and tree planting. Visitors can also learn about what trees would be best for their yards and take a guided hike. We will have ten species of tree seedlings to give away including: Crabapple, Mayhaw, Baldcypress, Nuttall Oak, Red Mulberry, Tuliptree, Red Maple, Persimmon, Sycamore, and Longleaf Pine. We hope you will join in celeberating the native trees of Louisiana.
