Knitting in Nature

We have a special program coming up this month that combines two of my favorite things. Nature and knitting. You may not see the connection at first but if you look closer you’ll find that they are very closely related. The tools we use to knit can all come straight from nature. Knitting needles made from wood, bamboo, or metal. Yarn made from cotton, wool(sheep hair), bamboo, corn, cashmere(goat hair), even beech tree pulp. There is something magical about taking two sticks and string and making something both beautiful and useful.  If you have ever wanted to learn how to knit please join us on October 23  at 2pm to sit outdoors and learn this relaxing and rewarding hobby. New knitters should call 337-363-6289 to register as space is limited.  Experienced knitters are welcome to join us without registering. Just bring a project to work on or bring some solid color worsted weight yarn and #8 needles and make our nature coaster patterns.
